About Sabi Apps

An independent software studio based in the United States.

Sabi is a Nigerian Pidgin word. To sabi something is to know it, or to be good at it. "I sabi am" means "I know it." That's the standard we hold our apps to: each one should know its job and do it well.

What we build

Sabi Apps makes small, focused web apps that solve one problem each:

  • Yarn Pidgin, Yarn Patois and Yarn Igbo are translators for languages that big translation tools often get wrong, built with phrasebooks and reviewed community suggestions.
  • PolicyPilot checks privacy and security policies against GDPR, US privacy laws, PCI DSS and Nigeria's NDPA, and shows the gaps.
  • MarketEdge and SportEdge are research tools for testing trading and sports models honestly, before trusting them.
  • Praxis is a practice-first tutor that gives feedback on answers written in your own words.

How we work

Privacy by default. We collect as little as we can, we don't sell personal data, and most of our apps don't need an account. Where we use machine-learning models, we run them on servers we operate rather than sending your text to a third-party AI provider.

Honest about limits. Translations can be wrong, compliance checks aren't legal advice, and no model can predict markets or matches reliably. Each app says so plainly.

Improved in the open. Our translators get better through suggestions from the people who speak these languages every day, and every suggestion is reviewed before it goes live.

How we're funded

Some pages on this site and in our free apps show ads from Google AdSense. Ads help keep the free tools free. We never place ads inside signed-in account areas, and you can read how advertising cookies work in our Privacy Policy.
