Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026

This policy explains how Sabi Apps ("we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you use sabiapps.com and the apps hosted on its subdomains, including Yarn Pidgin, Yarn Patois, Yarn Igbo, PolicyPilot, SportEdge, MarketEdge and Praxis (together, the "Services"). Sabi Apps is based in the United States.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information (apps with accounts, such as PolicyPilot): your name, email address, organisation name, and the colleagues you invite.
  • Documents and content: files you upload to PolicyPilot for analysis, answers you write in Praxis, and translation suggestions or votes you submit in Yarn.
  • Messages: what you send us by email.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring page and time of the request. We use these to keep the Services secure and working.
  • Text you translate: processed to produce the translation. We do not link translation text to your identity.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see sections 4 and 5.

2. How we use information

  • To provide, maintain and improve the Services, including reviewing community translation suggestions.
  • To run the analysis or feedback you ask for (for example, a PolicyPilot gap analysis).
  • To secure the Services, prevent abuse and fix problems.
  • To reply to you and send essential service messages (for example, account invitations).
  • To show advertising on some public pages (see section 4).

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (providing the Services), our legitimate interests (security, improvement, and non-personalised measurement), your consent (personalised advertising cookies where required), and legal obligations.

3. Machine-learning models

Yarn Igbo and Praxis use machine-learning models (for example, Meta's open NLLB-200 translation model) that run on servers we operate. Your text is not sent to third-party AI providers for these features, and we do not use PolicyPilot documents to train models.

4. Advertising (Google AdSense)

Some public pages of the Services show ads served by Google AdSense. We do not show ads inside signed-in account areas.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our sites and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
  • Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland: we use Google's certified consent management platform to ask for your consent before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used. You can accept, reject, or manage your choices, and change them at any time using the privacy settings link shown on the page.

5. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and secure your session in apps with accounts. Advertising cookies are set by Google and its partners as described above, subject to your consent where the law requires it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may stop working if you do.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except as described in section 4 for Google AdSense on public pages. We share information only:

  • with service providers who help us run the Services (for example, our hosting provider and email provider), under contracts that limit their use of the data;
  • with Google, for advertising as described above;
  • with other members of your organisation's workspace, for content you share there;
  • if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users or the Services;
  • as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you.

7. Retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active and delete it within 90 days after you ask us to close it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Uploaded documents are kept until you delete them or close your account. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes. Published translation suggestions become part of the shared phrasebook without your name attached.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time.

  • EEA, UK and Switzerland: you can exercise the GDPR rights above and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
  • California and other US states: you have the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To opt out of personalised advertising, use the links in section 4. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
  • Nigeria: you have the rights given by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

To make a request, email privacy@sabiapps.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.

9. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. SportEdge is for adults 18 and over only. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls and other reasonable safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International transfers

We are based in the United States and our servers may be located in other countries. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the effective date above and, for significant changes, give notice on the site or by email.
